- Inside the perimeter, the mansion loomed like a beast at rest, its windows glowing faintly gold against the night. The pair moved swiftly, crouched low. Darren led, each step calculated, every pause timed to the sweep of a guard’s distracted gaze. Nina followed seamlessly, her breaths measured, her body taut but focused.
- They darted behind a parked delivery van, crouching in the dark beneath its metal shell. From here, the front doors of the mansion were just yards away. Guards were thinning out, half had run toward the explosion, the rest barked frenzied orders into radios.
- “This is our window,” Darren whispered, eyes scanning every angle. “We breach fast, silent, no hesitation.”
