Chapter 52

• I needed someone to talk to, so I went straight to Nora's house. I couldn't say anything and burst into tears — the tears I'd been holding in throughout my journey to her house. Nora wasted no time in pulling me into her embrace. I poured out all the pain, letting the tears roll down. I needed this, to make me feel better. I don't know how long we stood there like that. Nora was the first to pull me out of her embrace, but she grabbed me by the wrist and led us to the sitting room.
• She walked away and came back with a glass of water. "Here. Drink it," she said. I didn't object. I gulped it down, feeling warmth spread through my chest as the water passed through my system.
