• My eyes drift to the staircase as I notice some movement. A middle-aged woman with fair skin and brown hair, her beautiful eyes just like Adrien's, descends the steps. She is followed by a tall, athletic man in his sixties, also white, with black hair and brown eyes. They approach us with smiles.
• — It's a pleasure to meet you, Isabella; you are very beautiful — exclaims Adrien's mother, giving me a kiss on the cheek and a warm hug that makes me feel welcome.
• — This is Sophia Mills Hamilton, my mother — Adrien interjects proudly — and this is my father, Richard Hamilton — he says, pointing to the man who approaches with a kind smile.
