• "She's an unexpected guest, and I had already informed her not to visit here again." Nicole frowned, as she had been hoping to hear that the young lady was Derrick's girlfriend, but her brother brushed the topic aside.
• "That's fine, only I thought she was your new girlfriend," Nicole said, even as Lady Loretta sat silently with them, listening to her children's conversation.
