• Oliver smiled sweetly when he saw his mother go into the bathroom to prepare his bath. He heard Larry's words about him, and while he didn't dislike Uncle Larry, he didn't want him as his father figure.
• In Oliver's mind, he believed that Uncle Larry was only pretending to like him now, before he married Miranda. He worried that once Larry married Miranda, he would take his mother's love away from him or make his life difficult.
• Oliver had seen other happy families during his school graduation, and he wanted a complete family too. He wanted to reach out to his father, even if it was just once, and be a part of his life.
