• Derrick subtly narrowed his eyes at Miranda as he saw her walk out of the bathroom. Without waiting to hear what his mother had to say to Miranda, he muttered, "Mom, you can meet me in the dining room."
• After Derrick exited the room, the other two maids stood motionless, witnessing his earlier reaction in the early hours of the morning.
• "Come with me, Miranda. You should go and serve my tea." Lady Loretta dismissed Miranda and went to the dining room to join her son.
