Chapter 13 It's F*cking Filthy

  • Charlotte had no clue as to why he would suddenly bring the subject up, but since she had already made the boyfriend lie, she'd have to roll with it. "Ex or current?"
  • Darius sneered. Who'd have thought he had married a guy magnet? "How many boyfriends have you had?"
  • "Just two."
  • Two? You call that a few?
  • "The current one. What's his name?" Darius asked, his voice growing husky.
  • It wasn't easy coming up with a believable name. Then again, an 'Eli Chester' had just contacted her.
  • Thus, Charlotte used it without even tweaking it. "Eli Chester."
  • There were seven billion people on Earth; there was no way Darius would know a cyber crook named Eli Chester.
  • "Chester?" Darius frowned slightly.
  • "Yes. Why, President? Do you have any business with him?" Charlotte responded credibly.
  • "You are not to have sex with him during the period of our contracted marriage! It's f*cking filthy," Darius ordered.
  • Charlotte's face flushed instantly upon the word 'filthy'. He painted her like a product, banded second-hand when someone had 'purchased' her before him, permitting him to degrade her. This kind of nitpicking made her super uncomfortable.
  • "Rest assured, President Leynthall. I have excellent professional conduct. I know what I should and shouldn't do. Besides, he's interning in a different town, and he can't come back. So, it'd be impossible even if I wanted to," she emphasized righteously, incompatible with the currently erotic atmosphere.
  • Darius suddenly lost interest, probably from how frigid Charlotte was behaving. Though her soft body jogged his memory of their one-night stand and her rosy cheeks had him wanting more, there was one thing he learned that night—this intern was no pushover.
  • Therefore, he couldn't fall for her tricks. If he did this time, she would know there would be a next, and she'd act even more outrageously.
  • With that, he got down from her.
  • Darius' sudden turn-on had made her more certain that he used to love Samantha. He mistook her for this woman when he got drunk that time, and now, he got upset just at the mention of her name. He had no intention of having sex this night, but since Samantha had triggered him, he was still aroused.
  • "If you're not going to do it, I'm going to sleep." With that, she turned around, facing her back to him.
  • Fortunately, the session stopped before it barely began. He didn't bring condoms with him, so if they really had sex, she'd have to take morning-after pills. However, she wasn't familiar with this neighborhood, and she didn't know where the drugstore was.
  • However, she wouldn't have to worry now. It was great!
  • The next day, Charlotte continued to perform well as she beamed the entire time, leading Sebastian to constantly nod with approval, praising Darius for having good taste. At 1.00PM, the 'newlyweds' finally hopped into the car and headed back to Wimbourn.
  • Charlotte thought her cheeks had stiffened from smiling all morning. Thus, she immediately dropped the smile right after entering the car.
  • One of them was a CEO, whereas the other was an intern. Their lives were heaven and hell before ever crossing paths, so there was nothing they could talk about now.
  • A notification from Charlotte's phone broke the silence. Her university's guidance counselor had sent her a text, telling her to come up with a valedictorian speech that she would be reciting during graduation.
  • Since she was at a loss for where to begin, Charlotte began discussing with the counselor her speech's entry point, emphasis, and if some of her stories were okay.
  • For a while, her fingers danced on the keypad.
  • Just as she was sending another text, a notification banner slid from the top of her screen. 'DARIUS LEYNTHALL has transferred 50,000 into your bank account...'
  • Charlotte's fingers paused for a second. Technically speaking, she should be happy to receive so much money in one day, but now, she suddenly found it really ironic.
  • He bought, whereas she sold; it was a one-shot deal.
  • After sending the message to her guidance counselor, she sent a text to Darius. 'Thank you, President Leynthall.'
  • However, he didn't reply to it.
  • A thought suddenly hit her, and she asked Darius, "President Leynthall, how often will we be visiting Grandpa? At the very least, I'll have a heads-up."
  • "We'll most likely visit him every week."
  • Charlotte was taken aback. Thank goodness I don't really have a boyfriend, or I can practically say goodbye to him with how frequently we'll be visiting Grandpa.
