Chapter 38 Sudden Invitation

• Those footsteps suddenly stopped as she saw Lucas was there. The gray-eyed man was sitting on the sofa in the lobby. His body leaned against the back of the couch. He looked relaxed and enjoying his activities, even though no one else was with him. That was right. He was alone, or maybe alone because no one else was sitting on the sofa but him.
• "What's wrong? Why did you stop?" Chris asked after finding Elle no longer walking next to him. She stopped and was four steps behind him.
• The question forced her not to be lost in her thoughts. Lucas was real. Likewise, Chris looked at her and waited for her answer. "I'm okay. I'm just looking at Mr. Dahl," Elle replied, not completely lying. She was indeed surprised at Lucas's existence in the company lobby, although it had been an hour since they separated. Was it possible that the discussion continued after Elle left the room? She was sure that they agreed to end the meeting. So what was he doing alone there without the people who had come with him?
