Chapter 90 The Eavesdropper

  • Charlotte lay with her eyes closed, pretending to be sleeping, but eavesdropping on both women's conversation while they thought she was asleep. What she was doing was so exhilarating, because of how dangerous it was. She thrived on dangerous situations, after all. These women were here playing friends with her, without realizing that she was the one who had kidnapped Sebastian's ex, almost killed her, and even had her in her custody right this minute. They also had no idea of the type of plans that she had in store for them both, because although Sebastian's wife had not done anything to her really, she was guilty by association, which was more than enough for Charlotte to hate her.
  • Besides, contrary to what Mrs. James thought, Charlotte was certain of the fact that Sebastian felt something for his wife, no matter how small. He looked far different from what he had looked like in the first months after Jessica went missing, and the months after his marriage. He looked happier, and that did not go down well with her at all. None of them deserved to be happy while she, Charlotte was damn miserable. It was a good thing that Mr. James and his wife were leaving tomorrow, while Sebastian and Carol were staying. It would buy Charlotte enough time to do what needed to be done. Charlotte had to admit that she had been livid when she had discovered that Mr. James and his wife were here too, but it seemed that fate was on her side, what with Mr. James's illness suddenly taking a turn for the worse.
  • "I think that we should go back to the suite now. I want to go and see how my husband is doing. If not that he insisted, I would not even have come for the spa session at all. Wake your friend up, Carol." Charlotte heard Mrs. James say.
