Chapter 59 Caught Red-handed

• Jessica remained seated, without saying a word, just wishing that her unwanted visitor would go away. Her heart was beating a mile per minute, although she managed to keep a straight face. In all the months since she had lived here, Charlotte had never for one day come to the apartment, or even called her to tell her anything. In fact, if Jessica put her mind to it during those times, she could almost convince herself that the events of the past months were just a dream and she was as free as a bird. However, here she was out of the blues and without any warning too.
• When Jessica had heard the key turn in the knob, she had thought at first that it was Victoria who was coming back from wherever she went to, because she was expecting her. She sure as hell had not expected to see Charlotte and her bodyguard and had only had enough time to put her phone on do not disturb mode and slide it under the sofa on which she was now seated.
