Chapter 198 Goodbye, Sebastian (Two)

  • Lugging the heavy suitcase down the stairs with tears of anger and frustration beginning to stream once more from her face, she observed the quiet house with a deep feeling of sadness. There was no doubt that she would miss the house, its beautiful gardens, and lush lawns. Most of all though, she would miss Sebastian ... the Sebastian that she had fallen in love with, the one who smiled at her and rubbed her back and was so very caring, not the accusing and unreasonable jerk that had asked her to leave the house, while it was raining cats and dogs.
  • The rain was coming down in torrents, and bright lightning, punctuated with loud, occasional claps of thunder, flashed in the mostly dark sky, looking eerily beautiful and scary at the same time. The whole house was quiet, except for the noise of the downpour, so she guessed that everyone was still asleep, not that it mattered. Picking up the key to the car that Sebastian had allocated to her, along with a driver when she first came here, she managed to move her luggage to the car and then put it in the backseat. By the time she was done, she was panting with exhaustion and cursing Sebastian a million times in her mind.
  • "Good morning, ma'am. Do you need me to drive you somewhere?" A voice asked, just as she opened the driver's side and was about to get in. She turned to see one of the drivers, the one who was allocated to her for that matter and who always insisted on driving her around, standing a few feet away in the garage. Carol pressed her fingers against the bridge of her nose, so not in the mood to argue with him.
