• The heavy gates of the Green Pack mansion slammed shut behind me. The warm air from the fireplace enveloped my damp, chilled body, dispelling the cold that still clung to me from the parking lot.
• In the living room, Ethan was sitting on the couch, obviously waiting for us. His eyes searched the people around me - Luna Lisa was holding my arm with quiet concern, Grandpa's friendly gaze was on me and a few members of the pack were watching silently - and landed directly on my face.
