• “Mama, pretty here,” Kaia said while sitting on her swivel chair inside her office at the flower shop. Her feet were dangling as if she were the boss, holding papers and a pen, pretending to read them.
• She brought Kaia with her to the office because Auntie Pillar had a checkup with her Nana Gloria. She couldn't leave her with Auntie Fe because there was so much to do at the flower farm.
• She smiled at her daughter's words. "Soon, this will be yours," she said.
