Chapter 40 – Numb

• Skyler approached Mhia with large strides. He held her by the shoulders and stared into her eyes. "What do you know that I don't, huh?" he asked.
• He was shocked by her revelations. He still couldn't process what she was saying. He didn't even know what to feel in that moment. Knowing Adreianne was alive felt like a thorn being pulled from his chest. Because he blamed himself for what happened to her. He blamed himself for not doing anything.
• Mhia sighed. "You have the resources. You have the capabilities to know everything. Why didn't you do that? We wouldn't have ended up like this," Mhia replied, shaking her head. He saw guilt in her eyes. And it hurt him to see her in such a state.
