• Mhia's lips pressed together firmly as she gazed at Skyler. "What else should I expect from you? You've never really changed," she said, shaking her head. There was a hint of bitterness in her voice.
• She could see the veins in his neck bulging from his suppressed anger. "And what do you mean by that?"
• "You know already what I mean. I don't need to explain that to you." She glanced out the window. It seemed like there was no hope for the heavy rain to stop. And she didn't want to be stuck with Skyler. She didn't even want to breathe the same air he did. But she didn't have any choice.
