• Ethan, Marcus, Veronica and a few men, including Chase sat around the table in the living room. The place was filled with chattering and skittering.
• Ethan finally leaned forward, his fingers steepled.

He pulled out a tablet, swiping to show grainy surveillance footage. "Somehow, I was able to get the plates from the cops. So, I traced the plates. But the truck was registered to an old farmer in Kansas. It had been reported stolen weeks ago."
