Chapter 22 022

• The door opened just as the flower vase was flying across the room and Ella looked stunned as she walked into the room and saw the vase smashing against the wall and crumpling to the ground. Then she turned to Chase with a questioning look on her face.
• She had a jug of water in her hand and she had to drop it on a nearby stool when she realized her hands were shaking. Chase looked tense, and angry, and the first words that had rushed to the tip of her tongue when she saw that disappeared immediately.
• What had gotten him so angry that he'd smashed the flowers that she'd just gotten permission for. Flowers that gave her good memories of her mum before the sickness. Tears rushed to her eyes as she looked back to the flowers on the floor and she couldn't think of anything to say as she bent down and gathered the dirt and the flowers into the pieces of the vase.
