• But Ella was walking past her now to go to her room. Beth was an insufferable woman who deserves every bit of her rudeness. She would often treat her like she was a beggar in the house, yelling at her and making her job difficult. She would, sometimes, make Vera turn the house upside down or yell profanities, then blame Ella for it.
• With her new position in the house and the thought of becoming a rich woman by the end of the contract, she decided to give her a taste of her medicine.
• Moments later, Beth had brought a tray of food smelling delicious. When she opened the cover, there was a plate of strawberry pancakes, maple syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese and a glass of warm milk.
