- The sound of the heavy steel door of the service shaft slamming shut was a dull thud that sealed away the chaos of the subway junction.
- The ringing in my ears from Anna’s flashbang was a high, piercing sound. The flash had left ghost images of Kael’s men and the glowing infected burned into the back of my eyelids.
