Chapter 12
- We tied the men to a support pillar in the back of the warehouse. The tall one, whose name was Kael, didn’t stop glaring. The one with the shattered knee, Voss, had passed out from the pain. The third, shot by Ash, was still unconscious.
- Anna knelt, checking their gear: pulling out knives, spare ammo, and a small, leather-bound journal from Kael’s jacket. She didn’t look at me, but I could feel how nervous she was. .
- “This was reckless, Jaze,” she said, her voice low. “You could have been shot before you took two steps.”
