Chapter 8 Dare You Repeat That

  • "My family owns the hotel you previously stayed at. So, my subordinate reported that you checked out. If you haven't found a house, are you going to sleep on the street with your two kids?"
  • Aaron's rational statement struck Bella speechless, but soon she regained her wits. Although Aaron didn't say it out loud, did he mean to imply that he was indeed watching me?
  • Bella inexplicably did not feel disgusted.
  • She sighed softly. "I'll be at your company tomorrow at 2.00PM sharp to sign the contract."
  • The following day, Bella drove Samuel and Sebastian to the kindergarten she had previously called. After going through the admissions process, she felt relieved that one of her most pressing issues was finally settled.
  • At the Aarla Entertainment entrance, Bella got out of the car at 1.50PM in her sunglasses. She kept her low-key demeanor as she entered the building.
  • "Hi, do you have a reservation?"
  • The female receptionist grinned broadly when she noticed that Bella had an extraordinary temperament.
  • Bella was going to nod and respond when she abruptly heard a scream next to her.
  • "Bella Talley?"
  • As a result, one by one, the onlookers around stopped moving. They soon surrounded Bella, including the female receptionist, whose eyes were wide in shock.
  • Bella had a sudden regret for merely donning a pair of sunglasses. She should have worked hard to pass for someone else.
  • "Hello."
  • She turned to the first person who called her name. It was a young woman who was looking at her glistening eyes.
  • The young woman was beyond words in excitement when she confirmed that she was not mistaken. She trembled while anxiously pulling out a pen and paper from her bag because she wanted to ask for Bella's signature. The people around Bella also became excited.
  • "What's the matter?"
  • A woman who wore fiery red lipstick and four-inches high heels walked into the building. When she saw a crowd gathering together, she frowned in annoyance.
  • "It appears to be Bella Talley, Miss Fowler. She will sign a contract with our business, I've heard. I'm surprised that she really showed up." The assistant to Cecilia Fowler quickly figured out the current situation as she inquired with a hint of surprise.
  • Cecilia narrowed her eyes. As one of the female stars strongly supported by the company, she had always had everyone's attention. This was the first time that she was ignored by the public.
  • Bella turned the others down with a faint smile after giving the young woman a signature. She would never get to sign a contract if all of them wanted a signature.
  • "Oh, it's the notorious star. I thought it was some kind of famous celebrity."
  • The voice Bella had not heard for four years rang out all of a sudden. At Cecilia's words, the originally noisy crowd became silent.
  • Bella turned around and saw Cecilia looking at her with a broad smile. Cecilia. As annoying as usual. "You are?"
  • She suppressed her inward disgust and pushed her sunglasses gracefully while behaving like she did not know Cecilia.
  • As expected, Cecilia's fake smile started to fall apart. I'm a local A-list celebrity. But she doesn't know me?
  • However, she swiftly calmed down as she kept her innocent smile. "Oh, unlike you, I'm just a mere celebrity without much fame. You're so infamous that any dirt on you can take Anolia by storm."
  • Bella had developed an immunity to sarcastic language because she was used to hearing them. "I appreciate the compliment."
  • An inconspicuous fury flashed through Cecilia's eyes as she deliberately raised her voice. "You enjoy such great fame abroad. Why did you suddenly return home?"
  • She kept saying before Bella responded, "Could it be that there was so much dirt on you that you couldn't make it work? So, you came back to make money here?"
  • As Cecilia was talking, she reached Bella's side. She grinned and continued, "By the way, where are your two sons whom you used as tools to make money? You brought them back with you, right?"
  • Bella then grabbed Cecilia by the cheeks, saying coldly, "I'm sorry. I didn't quite catch what you just said…"
  • Cecilia's face was distorted under Bella's grasp, but she was unable to move because of Bella's murderous gaze.
  • With her eyes narrowed, Bella threatened Cecilia openly, "Dare you say it again?"
