Chapter 3 It's No Fun for You to Pester Me

  • Bella lazily raised her eyes and cast a glance at him before accepting the contract. She was just about to take a closer look when the sound of a child wailing suddenly came from outside, and she immediately recognized the voice as Sebastian's. She rested her forehead on her hand for a moment, put down the contract, and left the room without hesitation.
  • In the garden, Sebastian was sobbing his eyes out on the floor while Samuel was standing in front of him, coldly staring at Grace Reed, who had suddenly shown up, and shielding Sebastian from her.
  • He lowered his head and dangled the silver-colored smartwatch on his wrist, threatening, "I've recorded all the insults you said to us earlier, and we'll reserve the right to report you for child endangerment!"
  • Soon after, Sebastian's loud wails followed. "I… I'm not an unwanted child! I… I have a daddy…"
  • Bella had just descended the stairs when she heard Sebastian's choked complaints, and she immediately frowned.
  • "You're a witch, an evil witch!"
  • "Who are you calling a witch?" Enraged, Grace raised her hands to seize Sebastian.
  • "Wahh!" Her actions surprised Sebastian, and his wails instantly increased in volume.
  • At that moment, Bella grabbed her hand and shoved her aside, firmly shielding the two children behind her.
  • "Miss, aren't you going overboard? How could you raise your hands at a child?"
  • The moment Grace laid her eyes on Bella, her face instantly shifted into a pitiful expression and she said, "This boy ran into me first and called me a witch. How am I going overboard?"
  • Bella gasped at her sudden change, thinking that Grace had to be an actress to pull off such a skilled change in expression.
  • Sebastian grabbed her clothes in tears and said in a choked voice, "Mommy… I'm scared…"
  • "Don't be. Tell Mommy, why are you crying?" Bella knelt down and wiped his tears away.
  • Although Sebastian was a crybaby, it was the first time he had sobbed this much, and the sight greatly pained her.
  • "I… I… She…"
  • However, his words were unclear due to his sobs, and Bella simply couldn't decipher what he was saying.
  • Seeing that, Samuel retracted his icy glare and explained, "He bumped into that woman by accident, and she called us unwanted children."
  • She was practically like an evil witch, he thought.
  • In just two sentences, he made it clear what had just happened.
  • "Mom, I-I've already apologized after I bumped into the witch…" Sebastian buried his head into Bella's lap, his tone extremely aggrieved.
  • Hearing that, Grace scoffed and lifted her chin, spitting disdainfully, "What are you teaching your children? It's one thing to bump into me, but they even called me a witch. Nothing but a bunch of fatherless children!"
  • Bella chuckled. "Their father passed away early on, so it's true that he couldn't raise them. It seems that you know us quite well, Miss."
  • She attracted a large number of fans when the parent and child show she took part in abroad with her two children became viral. However, with fans came her haters, and she'd heard her fair share of vile insults from them, so Grace's words barely made a dent in her mind. Still, she never told Sebastian and Samuel about these things as they were still children who needed to be protected. Nonetheless, Grace had just overstepped that line.
  • "Why you!"
  • Grace was about to lose her temper when she spotted the man coming out of the villa from the corner of her eye. In an instant, she hid her mean expression and said, "Ron, why aren't you at the office today? I was even going to ask you out for lunch."
  • With a sweet smile, she ran toward Aaron and wrapped her arm around his, her tone turning coquettish.
  • Bella raised an eyebrow, suddenly understanding why Grace was so hostile toward her.
  • However, Aaron firmly jerked his arm out of her grasp and snapped, "How many times have I told you that we have to keep our distance? Also, you're a public figure, so you shouldn't get too close with people of the opposite gender."
  • "I mean, you're my friend, Ron, so why can't I be close to you?" Grace refused, stubbornly clinging onto his arm.
  • While they were busy arguing, Bella had finished comforting Sebastian and said in a small voice, "Sweetie, do you know what witches are scared of the most?"
  • "What?"
  • "Magicians, of course. Isn't that what you're best at?"
  • "Will witches be scared of… magicians?" Sebastian asked hesitantly.
  • Bella smiled mysteriously. "There are witches who are powerful and those who are not. It's clear that she's weak from a glance, and I'm sure she can't even use magic."
  • Sebastian's eyes were still brimming with tears, but an excited grin had bloomed on his face.
  • "Should we teach the witch a lesson?"
  • "Yeah!"
  • Standing up, Bella looked at Aaron and said, "Mr. Fowler, I'll be taking my leave now since you're busy. We can settle the contract another day."
  • "Wait." Seeing that she was about to leave, he instantly left Grace behind and strode toward her. "Where are you going?"
  • "To our hotel," Bella answered with a dubious expression. Where else would she go?
  • "Just stay here. I've already had someone to prepare a room, and besides, you have two children with you…"
  • "Mr. Fowler?" Bella interrupted him with a slight smile and reminded him, "We're both adults. Earlier, we were just fulfilling each other's needs, so it's no fun for you to pester me like this."
