Chapter 12 I Detest People Who Gossip

  • "Who exactly is Cecilia?"
  • "The woman in the first-floor lobby who tried to make things difficult for you. I heard you used force, and she was hospitalized."
  • "You're such a busybody, Miss Styles." Bella chuckled.
  • "False news now travels faster than real news. I don't believe in most of the rumors. How could you possibly beat someone up? Even if you did, Cecilia must have provoked you first. She's so arrogant and can't bear seeing others succeed."
  • Lisa made a face of disgust when she mentioned Cecilia as if she was siding with Bella.
  • Bella snickered, knowing exactly what Lisa was thinking.
  • The entertainment industry is indeed competitive.
  • "Why are you here, by the way? Have you signed the agreement?"
  • Lisa intended to strengthen their bond, but Bella didn't fall for her trick; she simply shook her head in response and said nothing else.
  • Bella was intrigued by how long Lisa could put up with her.
  • The ambiance had gotten awkward. Ordinary people would do their best to ride Lisa's coattails, but Bella had no intention of even trying.
  • "Mr. Fowler directed me to accompany Miss Talley to familiarize herself with the company." Miss Luna spoke up, breaking the silence.
  • "Is she mute? Do you need to speak for her?" Lisa retorted.
  • Luna looked at Bella with some discomfort, hoping that she could say something to clear up the situation.
  • "I detest people who gossip. I believe you're well-educated, Miss Styles. I hope you drop your heinous act," Bella said, a wide grin forming on her face.
  • Lisa was taken aback by Bella's blunt insult. She's the first person to belittle me in my face!
  • "What's with the face, Miss Styles? Do you believe those are kind words to say about others? Or such a toxic and despicable image of you is what you intend to project to the public?"
  • Bella continued to add fuel to the flames.
  • "I'm just giving you some advice since you're a newcomer. I can't believe you think that of me. Ignore me then and do whatever you want! If you are ever slandered in the future, don't expect me to defend you." Lisa scoffed in rage.
  • Lisa was about to walk away when she noticed Aaron approaching from a distance.
  • Her eyes widened, and she rushed forward to meet him. "Hey, Aaron! I was looking for you. Regarding the variety show last time…"
  • "For work-related matters, please discuss with John." Aaron's gaze never left Bella, and he walked right by Lisa.
  • Lisa was flabbergasted to see him walk up to Bella and invited the latter to lunch despite the latter looking indifferent.
  • Aaron has never shown me such tenderness.
  • Lisa turned to leave with a harsh frown on her face.
  • Bella cannot stay in this company!
  • In a restaurant.
  • Bella went to the bathroom to fix her makeup. It was also a good chance to compose her emotions and organize her thoughts.
  • She strangely felt pleased to hear that Aaron had found a house for her.
  • Her joy, however, was short-lived when she returned to her seat and saw the familiar dishes served by the waiter.
  • Those are my favorite dishes.
  • Seeing that she didn't move, Aaron questioned knowingly, "What's wrong? After a few years abroad, have your taste and cuisine preferences changed along with your name?
