Chapter 15 I'm Not Going to Let You Get Away With It

  • Bella was puzzled, so she propped her elbow and questioned, "What did I do to offend you?"
  • Cecilia lost her cool and screamed, "You hit me the day before, yet you still act as if nothing happened! You're so cunning, Bella Talley!"
  • "Don't be too harsh with your words. What do you mean I thrashed you? Can you provide proof of your injury?" Bella chuckled.
  • Cecilia was taken aback but realized why Bella had punched her the day before. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday, and the doctor concluded that her jaw was fine without requiring any medication. As such, her jaw recovered an hour later. She was plainly in pain at first, but no visible abnormalities were seen; only she could understand her anguish.
  • "I recall you being the first to say something nasty. You passed out from fear before I could teach you a lesson. If you can't tolerate high heels, don't wear them. It's perilous!" Bella continued to mock Cecilia.
  • Regaining her cool, Cecilia retorted, "You— I will never forgive you for what happened yesterday and today. You'll regret it!"
  • Once the phone disconnected, Bella fell into a daze. What about yesterday and today? What happened today?
  • Beep—
  • A honk erupted from behind her before she could think about it, and she whirled around to see that Aaron's driver had already maneuvered the car over.
  • "Get in." Aaron gazed at her through the open car window.
  • Bella inhaled deeply, not wanting Cecilia to ruin her mood.
  • "Who were you on the phone with earlier?" he inquired on their way to the company.
  • She hesitated and slowly turned to face him before coming clean. "It was Cecilia. She said she won't let me go, but I did nothing to her."
  • He scowled upon hearing her words. In truth, he had anticipated Cecilia to calm down after being taught a lesson yesterday, but he had been mistaken.
  • "Boss and Miss Talley, have you read today's Twitter hot topics?" Lincon asked softly, peering at them through the rearview mirror's reflection.
  • Hearing that, Bella instantly fished out her phone and accessed Twitter to see what was going on.
  • 'Problematic Queen Who Returned to Anolia Had a Public Brawl With Queen Bee Cecilia!'
  • Damn. No wonder Cecilia called me angrily early in the morning. The news is the biggest reason. Someone discreetly videotaped us and posted it on the Internet. The number of views has surpassed two-hundred thousand, and the views are increasing at an exaggerated rate with each refresh. What's interesting is that this video only captured Cecilia's nasty remarks to me, and it abruptly ended a second before I choked her.
  • I finally understood what she meant. Cecilia must've thought I was doing all of this for the publicity, based on this footage. Is someone covertly assisting me? No, it's because someone wishes to pull her down.
  • After some thought, Bella realized that many wanted to see Cecilia suffer, thanks to her filthy personality.
  • At that moment, Aaron made a phone call. "Order the PR department to remove Bella's video."
  • In return, she was a little unhappy. "Why delete it?"
  • Is he worried about getting Cecilia berated?
  • "You don't need this hoopla," he answered as he hung up the phone.
  • "You're scared of hurting Cecilia. I understand." She scoffed. After all, Cecilia is one of the Fowlers. It's understandable for him to be protective of his family.
  • Meanwhile, the man looked at her with helplessness in his eyes but said nothing.
  • Upon arrival, Bella was the first to exit the car and walk into the company without glancing back. She accidentally ran into someone, after which she quickly apologized, "Sorry about that! Are you alright?" The document in the woman's hand was scattered on the ground.
  • When she looked up, she noticed the prominent slap marks on the person's face.
