Chapter 13 Too Late for Regrets

  • Bella faked a smile and said, "I don't get what you're saying."
  • "Does it taste good?" Aaron questioned with intentions after observing Bella swallow the food little by little.
  • "It's delicious." She responded with a smile, but what Aaron said next caused her smile to freeze.
  • "Your food preferences remain unchanged, yet you insist you're not Nelly."
  • Bella had lost her appetite unknowingly. When she noticed the tenacity in Aaron's eyes, she suddenly felt a little sad.
  • Such an exceptional and successful man remembers my favorite dishes.
  • She became calm as she was deeply absorbed in thought.
  • "You may have misunderstood, Mr. Fowler. I'm not a picky eater. I will eat anything that is offered."
  • Bella rested her chin on the back of her palm and smiled flirtatiously at Aaron, "But I'm super selective when it comes to people. Mr. Fowler, you're one of the few people who pique my attention."
  • Aaron arched his brows and gave her a puzzled expression.
  • One among the few?
  • In the evening, Bella contacted her overseas attorney and sent him the unique contract.
  • The attorney reviewed the document and confirmed there was no problem, but there was one critical aspect.
  • The contract stated unequivocally that both parties must agree to it for a termination to proceed.
  • In other words, this agreement could become a perpetual "slave contract" as long as one party disagreed if there was a termination.
  • That being said, Bella instantly signed the contract after the phone call.
  • Aaron was acting so sincerely that any of my reluctance would be phony.
  • Right after Bella placed her signature, Aaron called to inquire about her decision.
  • "Did you spy on me?" In disbelief, Bella shifted her gaze between the contract and her phone.
  • How is it so coincidental that he called after I signed the contract?
  • This is absurd…
  • "So, you've signed it?"
  • Aaron, an intelligent individual, extrapolated her actions from her tone.
  • "It's too late for regrets, am I right?"
  • "What do you think, Nel?"
  • Bella remained silent.
  • The next day.
  • Aaron had waited outside Bella's house, relieved to see her leading the children out.
  • After all, this woman is capable of disappearing without a trace.
  • The first time Lincon noticed that Aaron specially waited for Bella was when she flew back home.
  • Today was the second time.
  • When Samuel and Sebastian saw Aaron exit the car, they both gazed up at Bella.
  • "Mommy, this man looks so familiar…" Sebastian reached out and took Bella's hand.
  • "We just met him a few days ago. Don't you remember?" Samuel muttered helplessly.
  • "Did we?" Sebastian was perplexed, and before he could remember, Samuel added, "It makes no difference if you don't recognize him. Do you remember Mrs. Witch?"
  • Sebastian had immediate flashbacks at the mention of that name and instinctively hunkered behind Bella, his dark eyes constantly examining the area around Aaron for Mrs. Witch.
  • As Samuel noticed this, he laughed, saying, "I thought someone claimed he wasn't afraid of Mrs. Witch."
  • Sebastian suddenly became still. His eyes were welling up with tears, and he was on the verge of sobbing.
  • Bella swiftly calmed him down and told Aaron, "The contract is in the house. I'll go get it."
  • After telling Samuel to look after Sebastian, Bella entered the house to retrieve the contract.
  • "Mr. Fowler, thank you for assisting us in finding this house." Samuel grabbed Sebastian's hand, approached Aaron, and smiled.
