Chapter 9

• Kane
• “You’ll have to kill me before I tell you any of his secrets. He was my best friend and you’re just some asshole who hates me.” she snaps. “It’s fucking hot in here,” she breathes the words and shrugs off Kane's coats before sprawling out on his bed and letting her eyes flutter shut.
• Kane moves toward the door and strategically blocks anyone's view into his room. Declan, buttoning his coat, expresses his need to leave, unable to tolerate the blaring music and the sounds of amorous activity coming from a neighboring room. With a few feet of distance between them in the hallway, he calls back to Kane, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
