• “Not sure. Last she saw, Delaney was fighting with you,” Celeste snarked, but Kane shushed her with a hand curling around her waist. “I tried to leave, and someone blocked me from leaving. If Kane hadn’t shown up, I’m not sure what would have happened.”
• Cruz got up, nearly causing his lady friend to fall on the floor, but she steadied herself by grabbing his shirt. When she began to protest, Cruz held his hand up to her, but Kane was the one who spoke. “Shut the fuck up and leave.”
