• "Don’t point a weapon that you don’t intend to use,” Mr. Sanderson said, still struggling with Jesse. Kane kept her arm locked but swung it to the side to point the gun at Talon’s father. “Get the fuck off of him until we can find out what’s going on.”
• “Kane…” Mr. Sanderson started, easing up off Jesse, but not letting him up completely. Kane raised the gun and shot off three consecutive warning shots. “I have no problem shooting anyone who doesn’t start talking right now,” he brought the gun and trained it back on his father. “What happened to my brother?”
