Chapter 2 Renae

  • The week went by quickly and now it’s Friday evening. I’ve been over at Faye’s since our last lecture at 3pm and now it’s 5 and our hang out is by 7, we were going to hang out at a lounge that just opened some weeks ago.
  • “Ben didn’t want me going out at first but I had my reassure him that it was just a nice innocent hang out with my friends, he gets so over protective and possessive sometimes.” She said smiling, she didn’t sound like she was complaining, I know she secretly likes it sometimes even though it annoys her a little.
  • “I don’t blame him though, he knows that you are a hotcake and any guy would want to make a pass at you.” She was really pretty, outgoing, friendly and hospitable, curvy and a great cook, everything I wasn’t, who wouldn’t be interested in that? She also made no effort yet she attracted different guys of wealthy caliber. Ben is rich and so is every other guy that tries to date her and she doesn’t push out the ones she finds attractive, I know she doesn’t sleep with them but she entertains them.
  • “Of course, it’s not everyday they get to see a full package like me.” She said chuckling and I joined in too. She was easy to be around and I liked the way she cares about the people around her. “What about you, any guy yet?” She asked raising her brows repeatedly causing me to laugh. The only place I’m getting a guy is in my dreams.
  • “Believe me when I get a guy, I’ll announce it on the group chat.” I said laughing, I might not do that though but who knows?
  • “What about that guy that you said is good looking?” She asked and I continued laughing.
  • “I say a lot of guys are good looking Faye, you have to be more specific than that but the answer is there is no one, I’m not talking to any guy at the moment.”
  • “When all you do is stay at home and come for lectures sometimes and go straight home where do you think the boy is going to find you and it’s not like you know the names of any of the good looking guys you are crushing on but that’s going to change because we are going out today and you are going to find someone.” She said it as if it was that easy. Go to the lounge looking pretty, sit pretty and a guy walks up to you and boom you start dating on the spot. I know that some might have it that way but I’m sure I’m not part of those lucky people and if I let her know I was already thinking of chickening out she’ll probably call the whole group and they’ll forcefully carry me there. I laughed at the thought I was having and her statement.
  • “You know yourself that it’s not that easy and besides I’m not easily impressed, it’s going to take more than a guy buying me drinks for me to fall in love.” I said and she rolled her eyes.
  • “I swear when you finally have a boyfriend I’m going to interrogate him and ask him how he did it because you my friend are one weird fellow.” She said and I laughed, she keeps saying this and knowing her it’s something she could do.
  • “I’ll also join in to interrogate him too because I’ll love to know what made him go for me as well.” We laughed and stopped when I got a text, looking at it was Logan
  • Make sure you come around today, looking forward to hanging out with you
  • “Hmmm, hmmm,” Faye said pretentiously clearing her throat. “If I didn’t know better I’ll think you both are dating and I know you don’t like him but I really can’t say the same for him.”
  • “Don’t be ridiculous, he knows better than to like me and besides I’m sure he doesn’t, we’re just close that’s all.” I was being honest, if anyone knew me better even if it’s just a fragment it’s him, we are really close, not so much at first like when we started talking two years ago though but we are friends and that’s what we will forever remain.
  • “Of course it starts from being friends and gradually you start having feelings for them and then you realize later that you are in love with them.” I just laughed knowing there’s nothing I could say that will convince her otherwise and I know Logan is trying to win the heart of the love of his life but she’s playing hard to get and I know they will end up together soon so maybe then I can shove the I told you so in her face because she definitely won’t be the one to tell me so concerning this matter.
  • “Let’s just start getting ready if not we’ll not be leaving here anytime soon.” We might not be getting there anytime soon but we’ll definitely not be the last to come, that was Lily’s special trait, she’s always late for everything even if she’s the one that plans it out and that’s why even if she writes 3pm for her wedding party I’m going to arrive there by 7pm because that might just be the time she remembers she had a party and use another two hours more to prepare, in other words, she’s the queen of lateness.
