• Olivia looked around the courtroom, searching for Tristan’s presence. Today was supposed to be the third court session, where the complaint would be read and there would be an opportunity for an appeal if the defendant did not accept the claim.
• However, by the time the session began, she hadn’t seen Tristan at all. Only his lawyer was present. She wondered to herself if the man was deliberately absent because he had given up on the whole process.
• “How about it, Mrs. Olivia? Are there any additional claims or amendments you’d like to make?” the judge asked after reading out all the demands Olivia had previously submitted.
