- The stillness of the night was broken by the distant sound of an explosion, its tremor rattling through the walls of the safe house. Rafael bolted upright in the living room, his gaze snapping to the security monitors. One of the outer fences was engulfed in flames, and dark figures poured through the breach like a flood.
- “They’re here,” Rafael muttered, his jaw tightening.
- Marco appeared in the doorway, his gun already drawn. “What do you want me to do?”
