• Kael stood at the large wooden table in his chamber, maps and scrolls sprawled before him. His jaw was tense, his fingers tracing the outline of Chloe’s lost kingdom. He had spent the entire night devising a strategy, yet a part of him knew this wasn't just about reclaiming her throne. It was about keeping himself in check—keeping her at a distance.
