Chapter 25

• Lydia stood tall in the grand chamber, her eyes burning with fury. The sight before her—the maid kneeling on the cold stone floor, trembling in fear—only made her blood boil more. Her heart was racing, not just from the sting of betrayal but from the shame of the situation. She could barely contain the anger that had been simmering beneath the surface for weeks. Where did she go wrong and why is Aiden treating her like that all of a sudden? He loved her and she loved him too so what went wrong?

• "How dare you lay with my husband, the king?" Lydia’s voice rang through the chamber, full of rage. She was shaking, barely able to control the storm of emotions inside her. Her hands balled into fists, and she slapped the maid’s face with a resounding force, the sound echoing in the vast room.
