- Kael leaned against the cold stone balcony outside his chambers, the chill night air doing little to cool the fire burning inside him. The moon hung low, its silver light casting long shadows across the castle grounds. He clenched his jaw, his mind replaying the confrontation with the Elders. Their refusal echoed in his head, their words cutting deeper than he wanted to admit.
