- Kael paced outside Chloe's room, his boots echoing softly against the stone floor of the castle corridor. The healer, an elderly woman with steady hands and a calm demeanor, had politely asked him to leave, insisting she needed space to properly care for Chloe. It had taken all his self-control to step outside, but Chloe's safety came first.
