- I wish I could say the ridiculous amount of alcohol I downed the night before helped me solve even one of my problems. It didn’t. After a fleeting moment of numb bliss, the hangover came in full force punishing and unforgiving. If it weren’t for Osric’s so-called magic elixir something heavily infused with turmeric and ginger I wouldn’t have managed to crawl out of bed before noon.
- “I hate Zinnia,” Romilly grumbled, clutching her Americano like it was the last lifeline she had left.
- “I hate her too,” I muttered, staring into my coffee and wondering how it would taste if I dropped a spoonful of mint chocolate chip ice cream into it. The thought barely had time to settle before I followed through, dumping in a scoop and hoping the sugar rush, paired with caffeine, would jumpstart my failing system.
