• “Can’t trace the transfers clean,” Malek said over the comm. “They covered their tracks. They used mixers and shell companies, routed through TOR and VPNs, then through three payment brokers and a crypto swap on offshore servers. My logs go dark at certain points.”
• Kael kept the engine off. He grabbed a rag from the glovebox and wiped his face. “Run it again. Start at the accounts that got the money. Find where they cashed out. Check CCTV at the brokers. Look for cash withdrawals or couriers. Don’t stop.”
• Malek paused. “They were careful. They changed the headers and re-routed things. We won’t break it quickly.”
