Chapter 33 Everything Was A Lie

  • The body hit the ground as Kael stood over it, chest heaving, every muscle in his frame trembling from the violence he had unleashed. For a long moment, the only sound in the corridor was the hiss of the dying fire extinguisher fog and the distant cries of freed children.
  • But then—A slow, deliberate clap echoed from behind him. Kael froze, “Bravo, Kael” came a voice he knew all too well, calm cold and almost amused. “Truly, bravo.”
  • Kael turned as his blood went ice. Moro stood at the far end of the corridor he was alive and untouched. The white coat he always wore was speckled faintly with crimson, though not his own. His glasses gleamed under the buzzing fluorescent lights.
