Chapter 47 I Read All Your Moves
- Kael didn’t waste time looking for a perfect weapon. He scanned the room fast, as his eyes caught on a long service pole used to move catering trolleys in the back hall. It was wedged between two crates, bent but still solid. He grunted, set his feet, and pulled.
- The pole came free with a loud snap that echoed off the marble. Kael let it clang on the floor once, loud and stupid, then lifted it and grinned like a man who’d just won a bet.
- “Well,” he said loud enough for the nearest cluster of guests to hear, “free upgrade to heavy metal. Complimentary with every broken car.”
