Chapter 14 I Am Drunk
- Various conversation from the banquet room behind Kael could be heard as Kael contemplated on what to do. He stood perfectly still with his hands in his pockets, watching the security guards stationed along the corridor like statues.
- A sudden shift in the air pulled his attention. Razen came into view flanked by two of his personal enforcers thick-shouldered, clean-shaven and their eyes were scanning the space without pause.
- Razen himself was in a charcoal three-piece suit. His presence carried that smug, easy weight of someone who thought the world still bent to his will. Kael didn’t move, didn’t breathe too sharply. But the face before him now wasn’t the one he had known, the face of the man who’d been broken, bled out, and left for dead years ago was no longer there. His new identity was cleaner, sharper, colder.
