Chapter 14
- Just as I stifled my disappointment, a familiar voice disrupted my reverie. The gravelly tone, unmistakable and unwelcome, heralded the presence of the Demon, a figure I had hoped to avoid. Ignoring his inquiry, I feigned obliviousness, the sudden surge of discomfort betraying my inner turmoil. Despite my efforts to maintain composure, his proximity and whispered words over my shoulder sent a chill down my spine.
- "We searched for you last night, you know?" his gravelly voice murmured, trailing alongside me with an unsettling proximity.
- I have seen and heard them from the security guard's car. The memory of their menacing snarls sends a shiver down my spine, revealing their intentions had they found me the night before, instead of the other man.
