• I found myself abruptly yanked up by my armpits, their fingers biting into my flesh and causing my eyes to water with discomfort. As I stumbled and caught sight of Xavier, the firm grips holding me up were the only thing preventing me from toppling to the ground.
• "Oh, goddess," I whispered, my heart racing.
• Xavier was not just surrounded by officers; military personnel crowded around him as well. I could see him struggling against their grip, his anger radiating off him in palpable waves.
