AMELIA’S P.O.V
He walked away as if nothing had happened and I quickly rushed over to Clara’s side. She shot me an inquisitive look but I refused to meet her eye or answer her silent question. I filed away the job offer into a corner of my mind for future use. I might need it sooner or later.
Clara didn’t say anything again about Hunter or what happened at the repair shop. She just drove quietly but then I noticed she was taking an unfamiliar route. I wanted to ask questions but I realized she knows the area better than I do and she wouldn’t lead me where I would get hurt.
