• Brittany had become more useful than I predicted. Ever since she told me about Amelia not being Gregory’s daughter, she had been more forthcoming with information. It was almost as if giving away that had broken something inside of her. She barely tried to fight me anymore. Inow understood why Gregory chose me, there was something enticing about having someone you could control. If I told her to jump, she asked how high. It was fun.
• I moved her things into my room because I didn’t want to give her the chance to run away or tell anyone about what was happening. She barely left the solace of the room and I could tell that Gregory was worried because he had asked me again if I knew what was wrong with her.
