Chapter 61 Full Circle
- Three years after James's birth, Grace found that their family had accomplished something that felt both whole and prepared for further development, especially since Phoebe had made the move to kindergarten with assurance and excitement and James had grown into a talkative, gregarious preschooler whose disposition matched his sister's leadership abilities. On a cool autumn day, she was working from home as James played imaginatively and they both waited for Phoebe to return from her first full day of kindergarten.
- James pointed to his intricate block creation, which had taken up the majority of his morning, and said, "Mama, when Phoebe comes home, James show Phoebe the castle,"
- Grace remarked, "Phoebe will be very impressed with your castle," acknowledging that James had taken the time to create something especially for his sister. "James made a castle for Phoebe," James affirmed, showing the safe consideration for others that had come to define his relationship style.
