Chapter 38 Rhythm And Routine
- Six months into their new employment, Grace realised that the rhythm of two rigorous careers necessitated a level of coordination she had not anticipated. She was perusing her calendar over morning coffee when Max emerged from their bedroom with the expression that indicated he was mentally organising a busy day.
- "Environmental committee hearing at nine, budget meeting at eleven, and a conference call with the research team at two," he continued, pouring coffee and checking his phone. "What does your Tuesday look like?"
- "Program planning meeting at ten, site visit to the youth centre at one, and a grant application deadline at five that I absolutely cannot miss," Grace said, referring to their shared calendar on her tablet. "And your mother called yesterday…….she wants to know if we can do dinner this weekend."
