Chapter 36 Official Business
- The downtown federal building had that certain institutional feel to it that Grace connected with significant, if not intimidating, government business. She and Max waited in a waiting room, both wearing what they had decided was "appropriately serious but not guilty-looking" clothing, going over the interview notes her lawyer had given her.
- "Remember," Max remarked softly, "that you are not a suspect but a witness. You offer them honest and thorough responses to their enquiries, but you don't fail to provide more details or make conclusions about subjects you don't know."
- "You sound like you've done this before."
