Chapter 117 The Global Classroom

• Emma's involvement in Dr. Chen's study programme introduced her to a global virtual classroom of very talented kids, giving her her first taste of real intellectual peers and illuminating the advantages and difficulties of exceptional talent.
• Twelve youngsters between the ages of five and eight who were all exhibiting extraordinary abilities in various categories were part of the international cohort. The group Emma was with included a young Brazilian composer whose musical expertise equalled hers, a polyglot from Sweden, and a Singaporean math whiz.
• Emma had never faced such challenges as she did throughout the virtual classroom sessions. For the first time, she came across colleagues who were able to not only match her thought process but also often outsmarted her in terms of reasoning fast and complexity. It was both a humbling and an exciting experience.
