Chapter 74 The Breaking Point
- BRIANA
- The wolves drag me back up the stairs of the Moonveil pack house, my body scraping against the walls as they yank me toward Alpha Morgan’s room. Their grip is harsh and unyielding, making the pain in my broken bones flare until it feels like fire burning through me. I bite down hard on my lip, swallowing the whimpers threatening to escape. If I make a sound, I know Morgan will only enjoy it more.
- All the while, I keep trying to reach out through the mind-link, desperate to call Linda. Every attempt crashes against a wall inside my head. It isn’t as strong as the dam I once built to bury my emotions after Morgan rejected me, but it’s enough to keep me trapped in silence. I sense that if I keep pressing, it might crack, but my concentration shatters when I’m suddenly tossed onto the familiar bed I woke up in earlier.
