Chapter 56 Shadows Over The Moon

  • I couldn’t sit still. My boots clicked against the hardwood floor as I paced the length of my aunt’s office, my wolf restless inside me. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Milan’s glare, sharp enough to cut steel. He was still angry about earlier—when I’d lost my temper, grabbed him by the shirt collar, and shouted at him in front of the warriors. That had ended with me surrounded, wolves in both human and beast form bristling with hostility.
  • For a few tense moments, the room had been nothing but growls, snarls, and clenched fists. If Royce and Jenny hadn’t linked for backup, I’m not sure how it would have ended. The air had been so thick with danger that even breathing felt heavy. Only when Aunt Linda and Uncle David stepped in did everything shift. Their presence alone was enough to force stillness. I’d released Milan and told them flatly I would be waiting at the pack house—then shifted into my wolf and left without another word.
